Uptempo alternative for ad budget pacing
By Drew Washington, founder of Ad Pacing Guru. I ran ~$1.7M/yr of ad spend across seven channels by hand before I built this. Last updated October 2026.
The short answer
Uptempo is an enterprise marketing operations suite — planning, budgeting, performance, and work management across an entire marketing org, synced to ERP and financial systems — sold on custom contracts with no published pricing. Ad Pacing Guru does one job for one company’s own ad spend: pace, track, and reconcile it across every channel, for a flat $14.99/month, listed openly. If you’re a large enterprise planning its whole marketing budget across many teams, Uptempo is built for that job. If you just need your own ad spend paced, Uptempo is a much bigger, much more expensive platform than the job requires.
What Uptempo does
Uptempo is the product of BrandMaker's 2021 acquisitions of Allocadia and Hive9, unified under the Uptempo name in a July 2022 rebrand (Uptempo, 2022)(martech.org, 2021). It describes itself as the "enterprise marketing system of record" (G2, rated 4.1/5 from 147 reviews): campaign and strategic planning, budget management and spend tracking synced to ERP/financial systems, performance analytics by product/region/campaign, and work and asset management, built for named enterprise customers including IKEA, Cisco, and Shell (martech.zone, 2026). Pricing isn't published; the page's only CTA is to book a demo, and one third-party estimate (Software Advice) lists a starting price around $2,000/month — unverified, so confirm current numbers with Uptempo directly.
What Ad Pacing Guru does
Ad Pacing Guru paces daily spend to a month-end target across every ad channel you run, catches a channel drifting over budget while a small correction still fixes it, reconciles the month-end close and recovers underspent surplus, and keeps an append-only record of every budget decision. It's built for one company managing its own ad-spend budget — not an enterprise planning its entire marketing budget across teams, brands, and cost categories. The price is $14.99/month flat, published on the website, no demo required to see it.
Where Uptempo is genuinely the better fit
If you're a large enterprise that needs to plan and reconcile its whole marketing budget — agency fees, events, martech, overhead, and ad spend together — across many teams and brands, synced to your ERP and financial systems with approval workflows baked in, that is Uptempo's actual job and a serious platform for it. Ad Pacing Guru has no financial-system sync, no cross-department budget planning, and no scope beyond ad spend at all — by design. I didn't build Ad Pacing Guru to plan an enterprise's whole marketing budget; I built it because I needed to know, every day, whether my own ad spend across seven channels was on pace. If you need the former, Uptempo (or Camphouse, a similar category — see FAQ below) is the right call, not us.

Frequently asked questions
What is Uptempo?
Uptempo is an enterprise marketing operations platform covering campaign and strategic planning, budget management, spend tracking synced to ERP/financial systems, performance analytics, and work/asset management. It’s sold as a "system of record" for marketing leaders to plan and prove ROI across an entire organization, not just ad spend — per Uptempo’s own site (martech.zone, 2026) and its G2 profile (g2.com/products/uptempo/reviews).
What happened to Allocadia and BrandMaker?
BrandMaker acquired Allocadia in 2021 and Hive9 shortly after, then rebranded the combined company as Uptempo in July 2022 — unifying all three under one platform (Uptempo press release, uptempo.io/news/brandmaker-rebrands-as-uptempo; martech.org, 2021). If you’re searching for "Allocadia" or "BrandMaker" today, Uptempo is the current product.
Is Camphouse the same kind of tool?
Camphouse (formerly Mediatool) is a similar category — a media-operations platform for planning, managing, and reporting on marketing budgets across campaigns, typically sold on tiered plans with pricing gated behind a quote (per its Capterra/GetApp listings). Like Uptempo, it’s built for planning budgets across many campaigns and teams, not single-purpose ad-spend pacing — the same honest concession in this page applies to Camphouse as well.
Is Ad Pacing Guru a replacement for Uptempo?
Only if what you actually need is pacing your own company’s ad spend. Uptempo is built to plan and reconcile an enterprise’s entire marketing budget — ad spend, agency fees, events, martech, overhead — across many teams and sync it to financial systems. That’s a materially different, much bigger job than pacing ad spend across a handful of channels.
How does pricing compare?
Ad Pacing Guru is $14.99/month flat, published openly, no demo required. Uptempo doesn’t publish pricing — it’s sold on a custom quote, and one third-party estimate (Software Advice) lists a starting price around $2,000/month. Get a current quote from Uptempo directly before assuming either figure still holds.
Which one should I pick?
If you’re a large enterprise planning marketing budgets across many teams and categories, and you need that synced to your ERP with approval workflows and performance reporting, Uptempo is a serious platform built for exactly that. If you’re one company that needs its own ad-spend budget paced, tracked, and reconciled across every channel — without a sales call or an enterprise contract — that’s what Ad Pacing Guru was built for.
